The annual partnership conference
Every year all new schools joining the programme gather together at the annual partnership conference, which takes place alternately in England and France.
This event is central to the process of building a lasting and fruitful relationship between two schools as it is a chance to meet colleagues from your partner school in person for the first time and begin planning ideas together.
Many teachers stress its importance in developing projects, which have in some cases lasted for many years. New partner schools appreciate the support and advice offered by experienced speakers and the programme team.
Given the vital role the event has in creating successful partnerships, attendance at the conference is a condition for all schools applying to join the programme.
This year the conference took place on 17-18 January 2008 at the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) in Sèvres. View the conference programme, photos and comments from those who took part.
New for 2008
At the request of teachers, we are inaugurating this year a summer conference for teachers in England to meet and to learn more about making the most of their partnerships.
The conference will take place on Friday 4 July at the Thinktank in Birmingham. Find out more.
