Work experience abroad: The Piggott School, Wokingham and Lycee Guehenno, Fougeres
The Piggott School, Wokingham, was one of the original 15 language colleges that linked up with sections europeennes in France in 2001. The school's relationship with Lycee Guehenno in the Breton town of Fougeres has grown into an exchange arrangement, giving the young people involved the opportunity to do work experience abroad.
The following five-minute film, shot at The Piggott School, explains the context of the Inter-Action partnership, and the primary school placements that students have been able to enjoy as part of the school's work with Lycee Guehenno.
Teachers and students talk about their involvement in the exchange, while Headteacher Hilary Winter explains how the relationship with Fougeres supports general development objectives at the school.
Over the next few pages, further short films tell the story of the partnership between The Piggott School and Lycee Guehenno and how, through work placements, many students from Berkshire have been able to experience working life in France.
